Eightfold Haven Woodworks & Art, LLC.
Alfred Isch
Woodworking has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. My dad and uncle would always be building, inventing, playing, or fixing something in the "woodshop". I was always drawn in with amazement on how a tree could become boards, and boards could become anything your imagination wanted. All it took was some time, talent, investment, and love for it.
Spending years learning and listening did nothing but drive a deep desire in my heart for woodworking that hasn't went anywhere for all these years, but life happens. Moving away from home, having children, 6 in total, working a "day job", may have taken me out of the woodshop but it sure never left my heart. A leap of faith and simple goals later, Eightfold Haven was started.
Goals are simple, spend time woodworking because I love it, and give all my children the same opportunity to love it, just as my dad did for me. So our name is Eightfold Haven because our shop is a place to go spend time as a family and be a haven for all eight of us.

Marie x3
Danielle Barnett
Mariex3 is a one woman run business. I love children and plants and home decor it shows in my business. I mostly make amigurumi, just a fancy word stuffed animals, and plant related items (plant sweaters, crochet plants that you can’t kill even if you’ve got a black thumb, and wall hangings). As my daughter has gotten older I have dabbled in clothing items like crop tops and swim suit covers; but my love has and always will be amigurumi. I love watching each stuffed animal come to life.
Crochet amigurumi (stuffed animals) and home decor (plant sweaters, doily’s etc.) for this event I would focus on amigurumi for children attending the event and plant sweaters for the spring (I normally have baby plants in them so people know what they are). Items price range is typically $10-$50 although I do have some large stuffed animals and swim suit covers that could run higher. I will also try to make some smaller $5 items, so that every child can possibly get something small.
A Traveling Spirit Vintage
Emily Mittermaier
A Traveling Spirit Vintage was born out of a love for all things travel and vintage. For as long as I can remember, I've loved poking around in antique shops, thrift stores, garage sales, and anywhere else that I might find discarded items; items that were once important to someone. I love rescuing these items and either finding them new homes with others who will love them or upcycling them into new treasures!
- Vintage upcycled candles come in a variety of vessels and range in price from $15-$60, depending on the value of the container the candle is in.
- Items accented with vintage elements (fabric, postcards, etc.), such as planters, trays, magnets. These items vary in price from $5 to $50.
- Traditional travel and vintage-inspired soy candles, wax melts, and reed diffusers made from new materials. These range in price from $5-$20.
Midnight Solstice Scents
Heather Stone-Clark
We are a wife and husband team who started out making wax melts and candles at the end of 2020 as a new hobby, and then halfway through 2021 we decided to turn our hobby into a side business. We have done two in person events and currently have our items in two retail locations, Pockets of Time in Kingwood, WV and Bent River Trading Company in Capon Bridge, WV. We are both excited to be on this journey together sharing our favorite scents with locals and managing our Etsy shop to spread our scent throughout the country.
Our specialty is our snap bar wax melts that look like yummy candy bars, but smell fantastic. Our candle line is made with with a creamy soy coconut blend, and share most of the same scents as our wax melts, but are made without dyes for a clean burn. Our most popular scent at our events last year was Saturday Cartoons that smells just like your favorite cereal from your childhood!
Wax Melts - $4 each or 2 for $7
4oz Candle - $6 each or 3 for $15
8oz Candle - $9 each or 3 for $25
Our target customer is someone who loves yummy scents and doesn't mind burning candles and melting wax melts in their home. I feel like our customer base is pretty diverse, as we haven't defined a niche just yet. Visually, we lean a little more modern farmhouse with our packaging and labels, but with a modern twist and a pinch of color for our melts.

Hill & Holler Herbal Company
Caroline Nicholas
Hill & Holler Herbal Company is a business I started to reclaim my roots as someone lucky enough to grow up in rural West Virginia. My mission is to promote sustainability through accessibility, as someone who grew up with very limited access to most environmental accommodations. but was taught to care for the land around me using what we had. I use the same farming/foraging techniques, methods, and superstitions that my grandpa taught me when I was little, blended with the passion for sustainability I developed in my college years. As an adult, I've decided to turn my green thumb and absolute adoration of the forest, which had diminished to only a hobby as I got older, into a business that celebrates my heritage and cares for the environment past cardboard packaging.
Now, Hill & Holler Herbal Company is an herbal goods shop that specializes in teas, salves, and body care. Almost three-quarters of my ingredients have either been grown in my garden with sustainable farming practices that focus on soil conservation and regeneration or foraged responsibly from the land surrounding my home in rural Braxton County. Every ingredient I buy is organic with transparent, responsible labor practices, and most are sourced from within the country to limit the emissions from international shipping. My packaging itself is certified home-compostable, from the petroleum-free bioplastic bags to the vegan adhesive and labels made from sugarcane byproducts. At Hill & Holler, we don't just talk the talk when it comes to sustainability, we put the work in to make sure we do what's best for the planet. As my grandpa always said, "If you take care of these hills and hollers, they'll always take care of you."
Hill & Holler offers many different kinds of botanical goods: loose-leaf herbal tea blends, salves/balms for a variety of different topical concerns, herbal lip balms, and an expanding array of bath and body care products.
I have about twenty tea blends for sale, categorized into the Olympus Collection, the Cryptid Collection, and The Crystal Collection.
In the Olympus collection, I have ten different tea blends named for different gods in the Hellenic pantheon, and each tea was thoroughly researched so that its ingredients and flavor profile would accurately embody the god it was named after. Some of these teas, like Athena and Artemis were blended to have medicinal effects that correlate to that god's domain (Athena's tea promotes mental clarity and concentration while Artemis's helps ease menstrual symptoms.)
The Cryptid collection is made up of five teas based on five famous West Virginia monsters: Mothman, the Flatwoods Monster, White Things, the Vegetable Man, and the West Virginia Yahoo. None of these teas have any medicinal effects, but they're some of my most popular teas!
My newest release, the Crystal collection, is made up of the Amethyst, Aventurine, Citrine, Lapis Lazuli, and Rose Quartz tea blends. The ingredients in these teas were chosen to epitomize the properties of each gemstone. For example, my Aventurine products use a lot of mints, basil, and green tea, all of which represent prosperity and good luck. My Rose Quartz products promote self-love and confidence, Amethyst promotes serenity and mindfulness, and so on. What makes the Crystal collection different is that it also includes lip balms, bath soaks, and body polishes (with body butters on the way soon!)
I also offer six different salves and a line of Intention Lip Balms (Abundance, Attraction, Delight, and Tranquility.) Every kind of balm or salve I offer is made with beeswax from a local apiary and organic, fair trade shea and mango butter. What makes my balms different is that I slow-infuse the oil over six months with only homegrown or foraged botanicals to make sure all the medicinal properties stay intact by forgoing any heat or using herbs that have been processed elsewhere.
